The Places Minis and Painters Gather – Gallery and Discussion Sites:

Electric Ocean - If you haven't already seen it, head on over to EC and say hi to Yrret/Terry. This is rapidly becoming my favorite mini related site on the web. EC sez "Electric Ocean.com Mini Painting News and Events, with Minspirational Art Galleries and the occasional useful tidbit."

Cool Mini or Not: A huge gallery site filled with thousands of minis ranging from dipped in the pot, to stunningly beautiful. Minis are voted on by visitors to gauge their coolness factor. Not an entirely reliable scale, but what the heck. ;) You can also post your own minis there, visit my minis, join in on the discussion forums, or read some interesting how to articles.

Mini-Painter Yahoo Forum: The most active of the painting discussion forums that I know of. Members (membership is required for particiaption) chatter on a variety of topics from how to paint NMM (non-metallic metal) to how to take good pics of minis. People also post minis for review/critique – a great way to get a fresh perspective on your work and also just reading reviews of other people's work can be very helpful.

Mini-Dealer Yahoo Forum: The skinny on online mini-dealers. A must check resource before ordering online.

Visions in Color: Dominic's site featuring both the Visions in Color and Visions in Putty showcases. Galleries, extensive links section and the uberfunny guide to Figmentia, the umm... highly-enthusiastic collecting and painting of miniatures.

Stuff of Legends: A simply amazing site featuring minis old and new.. more eye candy here than you can shake a click at.

'Eavy Metal Archive: Being a photographic record of previous 'Eavy Metal painting displays useful as a reference to painters and collectors of fine miniatures. <drool> ;)

Non Official Golden Demon Website:I'm sure there is another name for this site, but I can't find it. A wonderful resource for pics of Demon winning entries from an international perspective. Also features interviews and guest galleries. If you click nothing else on this page but are really looking for inspiration... go here.

Russian Vityaz :A collective of Russian painters and sculptors producing perhaps some of the finest historical miniatures in the world. Though there is much to recommend these miniatures, the freehand work defies belief.

Painter's Sites:

Dragon Forge Design: The home of Jeff Wilhelm's gear. Jeff is a multiple Demon winner, sculptor, and does killer bases and dioramas. Jeff frequently auctions off oop and interesting gaming stuff over on ebay along with beautiful wooden display bases.

The Gaijin's Dojo: Raging Gaijin – CJ Cummings' – site. Kick ass miniatures from this demon winning painter along with sculptures and a variety of other creative endeavors. A great painter and a great guy who has definately had an influence on my painting. Joe Bob sez Check it out!

Miniature Space: Jason Richard's site. Multiple Demon Winner and an incredible talent. One of my favorite places to wander around gawking in awe.

The Jenova Project: The home of Inge's minis and one of the best zombies I've ever seen. Also useful tips and links.

Miniature-Art - A gallery of fine painted miniaures: Bobby Wong's site with guest galleries featuring Victor Hardy's Bloodthirster and Tim Lison's Chaos Marines. Not too much to say about BW's work, it's awesome.

SiVous Play: Models and Miniatures by Jim Jackson. Jim does perhaps the most impressive dioramas I have ever seen and his Lord of the Rings Arwen vs the Wraiths at the river, and Sophet Dras pieces are incredible and well worth a look.

Tincture Adept: Jarrett Lee is a very talented painter with a huge range, consistantly creating great minis whether it is a fantasy sorceress or a sci fi dred. He also does wonderful, well-balanced bases.

Victoria Lamb's Gallery: Victoria's work is a great example of how the standards for painting miniatures are being stretched way past what used to be considered great work. She combines creativity, skill and a keen sense of humor to make fantastic dios and characters. If you haven't seen her work.. go look now!

Reference Sites:

Who's Who & What's What in the Warhammer World: Encyclopedia Bretonnia. A list of seemingly everything in the Warhammer Universes (or would that be universi?) Simply amazing if for no other reason than that someone went to the trouble to amass this much truly trivial information.

Gremlins in the Garage: For minis on steroids... head for the garage kits. :) Online zine with galleries, how-tos, and kit reviews. Good resource.

Effective Color Contrast: This is an article on creating effective color combinations for people with color-impaired vision. It is an interesting read for anyone who wants to find more effective (attractive) color combinations and learn some basics on color theory.
