Welcome to my gallery of painted fantasy and sci-fi miniatures, dioramas and vignettes by me, Sandy Stokey. You'll find minis from Games Workshop, Reaper, Warlord, Rackham, Ral Partha, and several other fine companies with some for sale though most already in other's collections. Feel free to wander around and if you have any questions, drop me a line. Enjoy!

What's New:

11/04/04 Hey!! My site went poof! Moved it to a new server and hopefully everything is here as all my remote files were inaccessible. :p

As you may have noticed, I have been on hiatus from posting (and painting). Now that the days are shorter, I hope to have some time to sit down with the brushes. :)

My current state of affairs:

Dave Barry, "Molecular Homicide"
We have the flu. I don't know if this particular strain has an official name, but if it does, it must be something like "Martian Death Flu". You may have had it yourself. The main symptom is that you wish you had another setting on your electric blanket, up past "HIGH", that said "ELECTROCUTION". Another symptom is that you cease brushing your teeth, because a) your teeth hurt, and b) you lack the strength. Midway through the brushing process, you'd have to lie down in front of the sink to rest for a couple of hours, and rivulets of toothpaste foam would dribble sideways out of your mouth, eventually hardening into crusty little toothpaste stalagmites that would bond your head permanently to the bathroom floor, which is how the police would find you. You know the kind of flu I'm talking about.

Bleah :p

1/16/04 Been shaking out some of the cobwebs by painting one of Rackham's Valkyeries. A charming little blue green creature that can be seen here >>>

12/28/03
I am still learning the ins and outs of the nikon and have some new pics of my CCIV that I like. I posted them along with a before and in progress conversion pic. She is up in the sale section, here >>>

12/21/03 Arwen of the face painting tutorial is finished. I am pretty happy with how she came out. She is the first mini I have used my new Optivisor (my oh my what a sweet tool it is) on. She can be seen here >>>

12/20/03 Final pics of the nifty little elven girl. There's been a little more work done on her and she's been given a display base. You can see here here >>>

12/13/03
I have been working on Arwen for a client and decided to create a Painting Female Faces tutorial with her. You can find it in the Resources section. Also revamped the Painting Eyes and Flowers articles slightly.

12/08/03
A nifty little elven girl for a client. This is a wonderful old sculpt that has a very wood elf look, but he saw something a little more tropical in her. The mix of our povs can be found here >>>

I am working on both a new computer system and have a brand new nikon to play with (yay!). While both are really exciting, I hope you'll bear with me while I sort out gamma settings and all sorts of other recreating reality on the screen things. :p

For those who have been reading my move notes... It looks like I have found and am going to close on 5 acres! I get to bring my horse home finally, and maybe get one or two more! It also means after the holidays I should start having a little more time to paint! All round great news and I am really excited :D

11/02/03 Lelith Hesperax - a new mini up in the sale section. I've been working on her for a while and just completed her today. May do a bit more detailing on the base, but I'm pretty pleased with her as is... you can see her here >>>

10/26/03 Just finished a vignette of Galadreil and Celeborn for a client, see the pics here >>>

10/13/03 A new vignette posted up in the sale section. It was a fun piece to do and one of two on a more gothic note I hope to get done for halloween. (I love halloween! :) See it here >>>

Also progress/pre-basing pics of the Celeborn and Galadrielset that I am doing on commission. See them here >>>

09/26/03 My horse is finally here from PA!!! Woooot!

Plus ;) A new female Wood Elf from Spyglass Miniatures. You can see her here >>>

09/17/03 Wow. Long time, no update! Been really busy with house hunting and commision painting. I did pick up a Vestal Wolfen at one of the local gaming shops (they carry Rackham!) and painted her for ebay. You can see her here >>>

Galleries: Examples of my miniature painting and basing, with figures from Rackham, Games Workshop, Celtos, Reaper and others as they've caught my eye. There is a broader range of my work here than seen on the other venues I use. Go >>>

Resources: If it wasn't for all the wonderful people on the internet and all the great sites, my minis would still look like they were painted with q-tips and melted crayolas. It truly is possible to learn to paint well with enough research and practice. Here are links to many of my favorite sites and the perfunctory promise that if I have time, I'll try to put up some articles of my own. :) Go >>>

For Sale : I don't by any means do this for a living, but I do sell some figures to help defray the cost of my ever growing miniature collection (I'm going paint them all some day... really! I swear!) Here you'll find both links to my ebay auctions, usually 1or 2 a week. Go >>>

About Me: Who or what is a SintriCat? This is the nick I use on cool mini or not and also on Yahoo painter lists. I do have a real name... Sandy Stokey, and all the minis on this site have been painted by me. I started painting again about a year and a half ago after a 10 or so year hiatus. Much thanks goes to Don. Without you, I never would have picked up my brushes again.

When I am not painting, I am either riding my horse, Lexus, being trained by my cats, Bobby and Bo (who are pretty darn cute in their own right), or working as a Freelance Graphics and Web Designer (you can see some of my work @ DynamicImages in the Portfolio section).

Thanks for taking the time to look in on my site! If you would like to contact me, email sandy@minizilla.com.
